29-Year-Old Terminal Brain Cancer Patient Decides Not to End Own Life on Nov. 1 – 29-year-old Brittany Maynard, the terminal brain cancer patient who had planned to end her own life on November 1st, says she’s feeling good and will not be going through with the assisted suicide. She says she will eventually decide when she will die, but now is not the time.

Brittany Maynard has changed her mind. In a video released Wednesday, 29-year-old Brittany said that she doesn’t have a date set for when she would end her life. She originally planned to take a prescribed lethal medication on November 1st, so she could celebrate her husband’s birthday on October 30th.

She said,”I still feel good enough ….that it doesn’t seem like the right time right now.”

So with doctors giving her just six months to live back in April, Maynard knows time is still limited. She said, “I feel myself getting sicker each week.” She has stage 4 of an aggressive form of brain cancer.

She originally released a video telling her story and campaigning for states to pass the “right to die” laws. In an interview with CBS, she acknowledged the criticism she has received for her decision, but she says she’s not ashamed to attach her name to a law that she thinks is a right that all terminally ill patients should have.
