Baby Born with Rare Skin Condition

Baby Lane, now 6 months old, was born with a rare skin condition, which causes painful blisters on his skin. According to doctors, this happens when the body does not make the protein that keeps the skin in place.

The rare skin condition is called epidermolysis bullosa, and affects about one in 50,000 kids. It’s been nicknamed the “butterfly skin'” because it makes the skin fragile and easily bruised and blistered. The condition has no known cure.

Baby Lane has to undergo a $3,ooo genetic test to determine whether he has this condition or not, and according to his mom, Medicaid has refused to pay for it, and she has had to depend on charitable donations to get the test done. The test can take up to 12 weeks to process. More….
