Chemotherapy Affects Muli-tasking Ability

New research shows that chemotherapy can affect multi-tasking ability in women. Past research has shown that breast cancer patients who receive chemotherapy tend to complain about brain fog, and decreased ability to multi-task and foggy thinking.

The study looked at women’s mental performance before and after chemotherapy, and also used an imaging technique to assess their brain activity. They found that  in women who received chemotherapy, brain activity reduced significantly and complaints about foggy thinking and “chemo brain” also increased. Researchers observed that the women had to put in more effort to get the same results after chemo. Older women seem to be affected more.
