At first, babies see everything in only black and white, and reflexively prefer to look at high-contrast edges and patterns, but they acquire the ability to begin distinguishing colors by the time they are about 7 weeks old.

Stimulate your baby’s sight by introducing very brightly hued books and toys, and by taking your little one out on frequent walks.
