Doctor Removes Maggots from Young Man’s Ear in Video – Cringe-worthy video shows a young man in India having hatched larvae removed from having burrowed deep within his ear.

It’s a story that’s bound to make you cringe! A doctor removed maggots from a young man’s ear. Apparently house flies made their way into a young man’s ear when he was sleeping. The larvae then laid eggs and hatched into hundreds of maggots.

The maggots can be seen visibly wriggling as the doctor removes them with tweezers. Each one measured about a centimeter long. There’s a name for this condition – aural myasis, which is common for tropical climates and children younger than ten.

Aural Myasis can cause deafness or even be fatal if left untreated. Maggots feed off of flesh and can penetrate the brain. Treatment involves suffocating the maggots with anti-parasitic medicine so they come to the surface, at which point, they can be manually removed.
