Walnuts have twice the antioxidant polyphenols as almonds, peanuts, pistachios, cashews, and other tree nuts. They’re also rich in omega-3 fatty acids.
How to make Walnut Milk
Ingredients
- 1 cup walnut halves
- 3 cups water plus more for soaking walnuts
- 1 tbsp honey or agave nectar
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- A pinch of salt
Preparation
- Soak walnuts for at least an hour.
- Drain and rinse the walnuts; blend all the ingredients.
How to make Walnut-Date Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1 cup walnut milk
- 1 cup plain or vanilla yogurt
- 3/4 cup Medjool or other dates, pitted and roughly chopped
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 cup ice (8 cubes)
Preparation
Blend all ingredients on the highest setting until smooth.
