Ebola Nurse Kaci Hickox Wins Quarantine Battle against State; No Longer Under Restrictions – A judge ordered Friday that nurse Kaci Hickox does not have to follow quarantine orders and the state did not supply sufficient information to show Hickox is a threat to her community.
The nurse has argued her forced quarantine is unconstitutional and she has not showed any symptoms of the deadly virus.
The judge praise Hickox for her service in West Africa and helping those with Ebola and said that the state did not prove that she was a risk to the community.
Hickox had defiantly violated the Ebola quarantine; she was originally confined to what she calls “an unconstitutional hold” in New Jersey. She was then allowed to go to Maine and was supposed to stay in her house for the 21-day Ebola virus incubation period but she and her boyfriend, famously went for a bike-ride on Thursday, trailed by police cruisers and journalists.
Hickox says she’s healthy and not showing any signs of the deadly virus and should not be forced into seclusion.
