Foods That Help You Look Younger – Julieanna Hever, author of the “The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Plant-Based Nutrition” teaches host Judy Greer what to eat to slow down the aging process and give you a healthy glow. Bring on the bright-colored veggies!

You need antioxidants to slow down the oxidative process in the body which makes you age. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables as these are full of antioxidants. A class of antioxidants called carotenoids can give you a healthy glow. Carotenoid-rich fruits and vegetables are red, orange, and yellow, like carrots, red and yellow bell peppers, and sweet potatoes.

Fruits high in carotenoids include watermelon, mango, cantaloupe, apricots, and peaches.

Carotenoids are absorbed better when the carotenoid-rich vegetables and fruits are chewed, chopped, blended or cooked.

Eat plenty of green leafy vegetables like kale and spinach and cruciferous vegetables like broccoli. The chlorophyll in leafy greens help rebuild and replenish your red blood cells.

Eat rainbow-colored veggies everyday and they’ll slow your aging and give you a healthy glow.

Here’s a fun fact: Tomato is a fruit.
