Ginger Nuts
Ginger Nuts – In this Episode of Sweet Treats, Chef Tess Ward shows you how to bake scrumptious gingernut biscuits.
Ingredients
- 2-3 cups ground almonds
- Ginger spice, as needed
- Clove powder, a pinch
- 1 cup maple syrup
- Salt, a pinch
- Lemon zest, a pinch
Preparation
- Place all the ingredients in a bowl and combine to form a soft dough.
- Divide the dough into small ping-pong-sized portions, and shape into balls. Flatten the tops a bit and place them on a baking tray , leaving enough space between each. Press the top of each biscuit lightly with a fork.
- Bake them in the oven at 180°C (356°F) for about 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden.
- Cool the ginger nuts (gingernut biscuits) on a wire rack until crisp. Serve with a cup of your favorite tea or coffee.
