What makes the situation worse is the fact that the flu vaccine that was shipped earlier may provide only partial protection, if at all, as the virus mutated into H3N2 after the vaccine was prepared and sent out. Doctors say that it might still be a wise move to get vaccinated as it could protect you from other strains of the flu.

  • Wash your hands with soap and hot water; use hand sanitizer in between washing.
  • Don’t touch your any part of your face, in case you came into contact with a contaminated surface like a faucet or doorknob.
  • Clean often-touched surfaces and items like you computer mouse with disinfectant wipes like Clorox to kill bacteria and viruses.
  • Call your doctor immediately if you experience flu symptoms like high fever, body-aches, and sore throat.

If you do get the flu, try over-the-counter medications that can help relieve the symptoms, along with rest and plenty of fluids.
