According to experts, you should take the time to relax, empty your bladder before your blood pressure is taken. It is also important to get a reading for both arms; not all doctors do this. A new study shows that even a 10-point difference in the two readings of the systolic number (upper) can indicate a 38% increase in your risk for a cardiac event.
