Jesse Eisenberg Adapting ‘Bream’ Stories as Amazon Comedy – Jesse Eisenberg is looking to bring his series of short stories to life.
The Oscar nominee is adapting Bream Gives Me the Hiccups as a half-hour comedy for Amazon, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Written on spec, the comedy is based on a series of short stories that The Social Network star writes for McSweeney’s.
Eisenberg wrote the script on spec and will executive produce and direct the project. A24’s Ravi Nandan (USA Network’s Playing House) and John Hodges will also executive produce.
The title comes from a series he wrote from the point of view of a nine-year-old boy, a restaurant critic, whose mother brings him to Los Angeles restaurants and bills her ex-husband for the meals. Eisenberg’s other works include Asuncion and The Revisionist.
