Letters from Prince Charles Show Devotion to Alternative Medicine – A second batch of letters written by Prince Charles to government ministers has been published Thursday.
The letters were sent between 2006 and 2009. They are the final set of correspondence released as a result of a Freedom of Information Act request from the Guardian – and a 10 year legal battle from the paper.
The first group of 27 letters, dated between 2004 and 2005, was released on May 13. Among the letters- Former health secretary Alan Johnson received a note regarding alternative medicine within the NHS, in which the Prince said “I cannot bear people suffering unnecessarily when a complementary approach could make a real difference.”
Elsewhere among the letters, Prince Charles discussed eco-towns with then housing minister Yvette Cooper, the re-use of historic sites with then culture secretary Ben Bradshaw and the plight of tropical rainforests with then international development minister Douglas Alexander.
