Maidenform and Wacoal Being Sued for Shapewear
Customers from Massachusetts have filed a class action lawsuit against Maidenform, for false claims about their shapewear. Wacoal’s iPant and Maidenform’s Flexees Instant Slimmer products are advertised as being able to “permanently change women’s body shape and skin tone,” but don’t live up to the promise.
The attorneys for the plaintiffs say that they’re suing to change corporate behavior and prevent them from making such false claims.
Maidenform has admitted to a mistake and says that customers are entitled to a refund if they’re not happy with the products. The plaintiffs, however, want more than a refund – punitive damages and an injunction preventing the companies from selling the products. More….
