Mobile phones Playing an Important Role in Grocery Shopping – According to Ninth Decimal Mobile Audience Insight Report, more and more consumers are turning to their mobile phones when shopping for groceries. From looking up product information, to coupons, to creating grocery lists, mobiles phones seem to have become indispensable to shoppers.
The study involved a survey of 1,200 mobile users who opted in to answer questions. Fifty-seven percent of the respondents were male and 43% were female. The majority(86%) of respondents said they used their mobile phones to prepare for shopping by creating shopping lists, finding and saving coupons and browsing recipes.
Sixty-eight percent of respondents used their mobile devices to discover new products by researching nutritional information, brand and product information. During the actual shopping, over 59% said they used their mobile phones to review shopping lists, search for product discounts, and get competitor pricing.
