Nuts may help with weight-loss and diabetes, say researchers who reviewed previous studies on the connection between nut consumption, obesity, and type 2 diabetes.

The review showed that consuming nuts everyday significantly reduced the risk of weight-gain and type 2 diabetes.

Nuts are high in protein and fiber, and help keep us feeling full longer and prevent us from eating more. The fats in nuts also increase oxidation in the body, which decreases accumulation of fat.

According to researchers, the vitamins and minerals in nuts may have contributed to reducing the risk of diabetes. They conclude that small dietary and lifestyle changes like adding healthy foods to diet, can bring about significant improvements in health over the long-term. More….
