Over 14 Million Cancer Survivors in US

There are over 14 million cancer survivors in the US, according to a new report. The number is expected to grow to 19 million in the next ten years.

The American Cancer Society released its new report today, which is National Cancer Survivors Day. The fact that people are living longer also increases the chances of them getting the disease, and because treatments continue to improve, people are also living longer with the disease, with 50% of cancer survivors being 70 or older.

The most common type of cancers that affect men are prostate, colorectal, and melanoma, while for women, they are breast cancer, followed by uterine and colorectal cancers. The cancer that continues to remain deadly is lung cancer. More….
