Robin Williams to Be Honored by Billy Crystal at the 2014 Emmy Awards – Robin Williams is getting a special tribute at the 2014 Emmy Awards. Williams’ longtime friend, former Father’s Day co-star and fellow comedian Billy Crystal will lead a tribute to the late actor during this Monday’s awards ceremony in L.A.
Emmy’s producer Don Mischer confirmed the news today, saying, “We felt we needed to do something powerful and memorable. Billy seemed like the perfect choice.”
This will be the first time Crystal has spoken at length about Williams’ death. Crystal did not release a statement following his passing. He simply took to Twitter several days ago to write, “No words.”
Williams, 63, was found dead at his home on Aug. 11 after committing suicide.
