Starbucks and Postmates Partner to Bring Coffee Delivery to Your Door

Starbucks and Postmates partner to bring coffee delivery to your door – If waiting in line for your Starbucks fix is just too much effort, rejoice: Starbucks will start to test delivery options later this year.

The company announced on Wednesday that it will be launching two different pilot tests, focused on delivery, in the latter half of 2015.

The first test, slated to start in Seattle, will work in conjunction with delivery startup Postmates. Using the Starbucks mobile app, customers can get their coffee and food delivered via the startup.

The second test will take place in Manhattan’s Empire State Building. Starbucks employees will be able to deliver orders from a chain store inside the building, to customers working in offices located within the same space.

Starbucks’ mobile payments application was extremely successful, and the new delivery service is an extension of its mobile services.

In a blog post, Postmates said the partnership supports its “vision to power local, on-demand logistics to businesses — and consumers — of all sizes, all over the world.”

In an interview with Geekwire, Starbucks Chief Digital Officer Adam Brotman said that there are big expectations for the mobile ordering service, which will be live across the US, United Kingdom and Canada by the end of the year.
