The Truths about Celebrity Fad Diets

The Truths about Celebrity Fad Diets – Host Judy Greer and health coach Carey Peters discuss some of the oddest celebrity fad diets: what works and what doesn’t?

The Baby Food diet was created by celebrity trainer, Tracy Anderson. It includes 14 servings of baby food, such as pureed vegetables and fruits, and a healthy dinner daily.  According to Peters, you’re basically starving yourself with such a diet.

The Cabbage Soup diet involves drinking cabbage soup every day. Cabbage is difficult to break down, so the body uses more energy in digestion, and loses fat that way. But you’ll get fewer calories than you need. Our bodies need 1200 calories a day for basic activities and a healthy metabolism.  So, the cabbage soup diet can end up messing up your metabolism.

The Master Cleanse diet is based on lemonade made with water, lemon juice, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper. No food is consumed and Peters doesn’t recommend it because it’s not good for your glucose levels or for your digestion.

Crash/Fad/Restricted Diet – if you want to do this, make sure you don’t do it for more than 2-3 days. Don’t opt for liquid-only diet, as you should keep your blood sugar stable. Also, don’t workout too hard.
