White Sauce for Pasta

White Sauce for Pasta is an easy sauce to whip up in short order. This delicious creamy sauce also has some bell-peppers and onions and milk, making it nutritious and healthy.

Servings: 4
Cooking Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup onions, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup bell-pepper (capsicum), cut into small cubes
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning (oregano, thyme, rosemary)
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter or heavy cream
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
  • Salt, half a pinch or to taste

Preparation

  1. Heat the olive oil. Add the onions and bell-pepper and saute on medium heat until semi-tender.
  2. Add the flour and saute for 2 minutes until aromatic.
  3. Add the Italian sesaoning and saute for a few seconds.
  4. Add the milk and stir on medium-low heat until the white sauce for pasta starts thickening.
  5. Add the butter or cream and a little salt and cook for 1 more minute.
  6. Add the black pepper powder and remove the white sauce for pasta from heat.
  7. Pour the white sauce over the pasta when ready to serve.
