Whole Foods Fined for Cheating California Customers

Whole Foods has been fined $800,000 for cheating California customers.

The company was investigated for pricing irregularities that included not deducting container weight when ringing up charges for items from salad bars and hot food bars, giving less than the quantity stated on packaged goods, and selling items like kebabs and deli items by the piece rather than by the pound, as required by law.

Whole Foods has agreed to pay the fine and promised to improve its price-checking policies and to conduct periodic audits to ensure there are no such irregularities in the future. More….
