If your waist size is growing, your healthy breakfast could be adding calories. According to experts, even if you’ve switched from doughnuts and pancakes to healthy breakfasts like green smoothies, oatmeal, and home-made baked goods, you could be unintentionally sabotaging your weight-loss goals.

Three common mistakes you could be making include, adding nuts and foods that are high in calories, not measuring the food you’re eating, and thinking that adding a few healthy ingredients to traditional items can reduce the calories.

Nutritionists warn against overuse of nuts, nut butters, avocado, and cheese, as these are laden with calories – a little goes a long way. Use measuring cups and spoons when serving, instead of eyeballing serving sizes to avid overeating. More….
