Hazmat suit production skyrockets – One New York company has recently seen significant interest, growth and boosted shares as the world battles Ebola. Lakeland Industries makes Hazmat suits worn to protect against contracting the virus.

Hazmat suits are going to the frontline in the fight against Ebola. Lakeland Industries has seen the demand for its productive products rise dramatically.

Christopher Ryan runs the company from Long Island, New York. From a startup to a multinational company, Lakeland Industries has seen enormous growth in the past 30 years, and now makes a $100 million in sales every year.

The hazmat suits account for 70% pf its output. They only take an hour to stitch and are made to withstand the worst. Even the smallest pinprick in protective gear like this can let in more than 12,000 Ebola particles. That’s why healthcare workers treating the sickest patients are safest in suits like these, sealed with tape at the seams for extra protection.

Hundreds of thousands of suits have gone to West Africa to the three worst Ebola-hit countries. Ryan has also seen demand from global governments , who want to be well-equipped. Ryan thinks there will be no letup in demand over the next 6 to 9 months, and depending on global efforts to contain the virus, his company is likely to see continued interest for some time to come.
