Korean Airlines Executive Resigns after Forcing a Plane Back to the Gate over Macadamia Nuts – A Korean Airlines executive has been forced to resign after she reportedly forced a plane back to the gate at JFK when she was served macadamia nuts in the original bag instead of on a plate as first class protocol requires.

The South Korean transportation ministry is also investigating if the woman violated the aviation safety law.

Korean Airlines chairman’s eldest daughter, Cho Hyun-ah has given notice to her father, and will no longer maintain her role as executive vice president. She allegedly became so irate after being served macadamia nuts in a bag, that the airline had to turn back the plane back to the gate at JFK. The airline has since apologized to passengers for the inconvenience, and now Cho could be in trouble with the law, too.

The South Korean Ministry of Transportation is investigating if the woman violated the aviation safety law, which says passengers cannot do anything that causes a huge disturbance, including violent language or yelling. The Transportation Ministry is currently looking to see if Cho could be charged.
