Pork Found in Cadbury Malasia
Cadbury Malaysia recalled two of its chocolate products after they found pork DNA in them. The pork DNA was found in a routine check for non-halal ingredients by the Malaysian Ministry of Health. The two products are Cadbury Dairy Milk Hazelnut and Cadbury Dairy Milk Roasted Almond.
Malaysia, which has a 60% Muslim population, conducts periodic tests to make sure all of its food products conform to Islamic dietary restrictions, which include exclusion of pork.
The chocolate maker is conducting a review of its supply chain to figure out what happened, and the Malaysian government says it might inspect all of Cadbury Malaysia’s products. More….
