Soda May Up Risk of Breast Cancer

New research shows that soda may up the risk of breast cancer. Scientists have found that too many sugary drinks can increase breast density in women, and as there’s less fatty tissue, more cells are at risk of becoming cancerous.

The study was done by researchers at Laval University, Quebec, and found that women who had more than three servings of soda a week had a 29.6% breast density, while those who did not drink soda had 26.2% breast density. A 3% increase is significant, researchers say.

Soda and other sugary drinks may also increase the risk of four other diseases including type 2 diabetes, fatty liver disease, obesity, and heart disease. More….
