What do a terrycloth towel and toned thighs have in common? As it turns out, one leads to the other!

Putting an end to flabby thighs doesn’t mean you have to shell out big bucks for home exercise equipment! If you’ve got a towel, you can do this exercise.

Place the folded towel several feet in front of you and stand with your feet together, hands on hips. With your left foot, take a big step forward onto the towel and lower into a lunge. Repeat with the opposite leg.

The towel helps absorb some of the shock while allowing you to find your ideal lunge point. Try to do two sets of eight repetitions per leg. Lunges tone your hamstrings, sure, but they’re also a great way to get killer calves and a tight tush. And these benefits can all be yours for the generous price of…free!

Do your lunges regularly, and you’ll be more than ready to use that towel for a more interesting purpose. Beach trip!
