According to a new Danish study, babies who are breast-fed develop healthy gut bacteria, which is important for digestive health and strengthening the immune system. It can also reduce the risk of inflammatory bowel disease, allergies, and diabetes in adulthood.

Babies are born without bacteria in the gut, and their early diet plays an important role during the first three years of their lives.

The study involved over 300 babies, and it showed that they go through important changes in intestinal bacterial composition from the age of nine to eighteen months. More….
